R.I.P. Steve

Steve Jobs Headshot 2010 CROPSteve Jobs - 1955-2011

The world lost a pioneer of the likes of Thomas Edison yesterday with the announcement of Steve Jobs passing. Steve had been battling pancreatic cancer for several years including a liver transplant in 2009 where he spent several months in Memphis, TN. All the past speculation about Apple's future without him will now unfold before us in the next several years.

Being an Apple user myself, this is a little alarming but not for the immediate future. We've got some fantastic products available to us right now with the iMac and MacBook Pro lines as well as all those iPads and iPods! And Steve himself has said that things are mostly set for the two to three years after his departure so we should be good for a while. What will be interesting is to see where Apple is in the marketplace five or even ten years from now!

Either way, I will miss knowing Mr. Jobs is at the helm of Apple. He was a leader and innovator that will not be easily replaced.

RIP Steve Jobs.
